1 1/2 cups shortening
2 teaspoons baking soda,
2 cups sugar ,
2 teaspoons cinnamon,
2 eggs ,
2 teaspoons cloves,
1/2 cup molasses
2 teaspoons ginger
4 cups sifted flour
Cream shortening and sugar together.
Beat in eggs, add molasses and sifted
dry ingredients.
Roll into 1 “ balls. Dip in sugar.
Place on baking sheet 2 inches apart.
Bake in moderate oven ( 375 degrees F.)
13 minutes then let cool on rack for 2 minutes.
For crisper cookie bake 15 min. makes 5 dozen.
