For a circus of shapes and colors, plant a packet of mixed gourd seeds. Gourds don't like cold weather, so wait until the middle of May to plant them. I like to plant them at the bottom of the fence in my yard so they can climb up it as they grow. Make sure they get plenty of water to drink during hot and windy summer days, and by fall you should have a bunch of cool looking gourds.
